Human's Being
People may regard places, spaces or objects as sacred. While this may or may not be true, one thing is certain; the human beings we interact with day after day in ordinary circumstances are the most sacred objects presented to our senses. Each of us made in the image of our Creator, capable of consciousness, thought, creativity and love. Yet we pass each other by without a thought or worse yet we often devalue one another, especially those with whom we may feel “uncomfortable.” This piece is painted with a nod toward Byzantine holy icons presented for veneration. These are only a few representations of the sacred beings we call human. My hope is that they will inspire thought and conversation and we would ask ourselves, “if this is true, what sort of life am I to live?”
